The Bouzoele (pronounced bü-zü-lē) - the illegitimate child of the bouzouki, unwilling to admit to a liaison with an adventurous ukulele a few years back.
Strung with nylon strings, and tuned GCEA, bouzoeles come in concert and tenor scales. An alternative to a big ukulele.
Don’t go asking for a bouzoele at your local music store, they’ll just look at you funny. This is because they are unique to Captain Ukuleles. For a fairly detailed history of the bouzoele’s country of origin, please see here.
